PETE YORN

THE RAVEONETTES
From Copenhagen, Denmark, the Raveonettes are Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo. Their brand of noisy guitar rock draws heavily on early '60's influences, but get a modern edge from punk rock rhythms. "Attack Of The Ghost Riders" is their first single. The NME said The Raveonettes "demand your attention" - and they certainly do. Their debut EP Whip It On is expected to be released in March.
THE MOONEY SUZUKI
Formed in 1997, The Mooney Suzuki are a four piece band from NYC who mix Rhythm & Blues with Rock 'N Roll to create a wild explosion of sweat, sound and energy on disc and on stage. They've been touring the U.S. for several years both headlining and opening for bands such as The Strokes and The Hives, perfecting their dynamic and incendiary live shows. You may have seen a raw video for In A Young Man's Mind from the album on MTV2. The band has one EP and two independent albums. Their latest album, produced and recorded by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, Dirtbombs, The Go) titled Electric Sweat, will be reissued on Columbia this Spring.
FLICK
When they first got signed, the lead singer was only 15. Now they've got a new sound, a new producer - Gil Norton (the Pixies), and really something to say. More Midwest boys make good. Look for their sophomore album on Columbia in May.
STEREOMUD
The band's debut album, Perfect Self, garnered a loyal fan base through the blistering tracks "Pain" and "Stepping Away" as well as through constant touring with the likes of Disturbed, Sevendust, and others. Stereomud's second full length, Every Given Moment, will be released in early March.
MEMENTO
Memento's debut, Beginnings, is a hard rock, emotionally charged album. Produced by Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn) and mixed by Brendan O' Brien ( Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine), Beginnings is due in stores this Spring. Also look for Memento on the road with Papa Roach, beginning in January.
FINGERTIGHT
Four guys from Martinez, CA make up Fingertight. They've been spending the last couple of years working their way up and down the West Coast, blowing kids away with their live show. Shredding guitars, deep vocals and lots of energy. Their debut album, In The Name Of Progress, will hit stores in March.
THE ATARIS
Power pop punk group The Ataris already have a huge underground following with several thriving indie albums and numerous tours under their belt. Alternative Press includes them as one of "the most anticipated bands of 2003" and Spin calls them one of "the next big things." Their Columbia debut, so long, astoria, was produced by Lou Giordano (Goo Goo Dolls) and is due to hit the streets in March.
TROUBLE IS
Hailing from the sun-drenched streets of Jacksonville, Florida, Trouble Is is the brainchild of lead singer, Luke Walker. Matt Pinfield heard one of his home demos on a local music program and signed him to Columbia Records. This pop-punk four piece has already done Warped Tour dates and played with Riddlin' Kids, Mindless Self Indulgence and Ten Foot Pole. Look for their debut album, Every Solution Has Its Problem this Spring.
KENNA
Kenna wants to control you. His album New Sacred Cow was co-produced by Chad Hugo of the Neptunes, and the video for the track "Hellbent" was shown over 450 times on MTV2. Kenna himself is hard-pressed to describe his album - he just wants to give you a glimpse at the overall perspective of a happily dysfunctional person. New Sacred Cow will be in stores in March.
CROSSFADE
Crossfade is a four-piece hard driving rock band from Columbia, South Carolina who recorded their Columbia debut in the home studio in their basement. The album is mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, Nickelback). Their huge following in the mid-atlantic is sure to spread with the release of this CD.
HEAD ON
Head On produces heavy rock from Chicago - and we mean ROCK. These guys know what they're doing and enlist the help of Johnny K., the producer of Disturbed, to help get their point across. Not for the weak. Their new album in stores in April.
ENDO
Endo (en-doh) - 1. A combining form meaning within, inner; 2. noun the ferociously heavy rock band from Miami, Florida. Formed in 1999, their following in the Southeast quickly grew. The band released their furious debut album Evolve and spent the next two years touring with Hed(pe), Nonpoint, Sepultura, Static-X, Nothingface, Machinehead and more. Endo have taken their raw energy, enticing melodies and thunderous tension to a new level with their follow-up album, Songs For The Restless. Produced by David Shiffman, the album will be in stores this spring.
THE CORAL
The Coral hail from a seaside town just outside Liverpool, England,and have become the most talked about band in the U.K. Their debut, self-titled release debuted on the U.K. charts in the Top 10 and has sold nearly 200,000 copies to date. The band's first release in the U.S. is the EP The Skeleton Key, featuring the title track and b-sides of their U.K. singles. The Coral CD will be enhanced with videos of the tracks "Goodbye" and "Dreaming Of You," to be released in February.
PORCH GHOULS
The Porch Ghouls are raising a ruckus - literally. The Memphis, Tennessee based band are committed to making "Ruckus Music" safe for the masses. Discovered by Aerosmith's Joe Perry, their brand of rock is where it all comes from. Their debut album will be in stores in March.
OVERSEER
Meet Rob Overseer, a sonic producer who appreciates the finer ironies of life and music while crafting thunderous soundscapes brimming with the kind of bristling beats and layers of post-apocalyptic power chords that would have Angus Young banging his head. The exhilarating rave-ups of Overseer can be heard in the X-BMX film Expendable 3, Grand Turismo and Stuntman video games, episodes of C.S.I. and Alias, and movies including Any Given Sunday and Snatch.
